About Us

Rusty Eck Ford BuildingIn 1953, a young O.L. 'Rusty' Eck embarked on a journey that would shape the future of automotive excellence in Haven, KS. With unwavering determination, Rusty purchased the local Ford dealership, setting the stage for a legacy of innovation and customer-centric values that endures to this day.

While skepticism lingered among his competitors, Rusty wasted no time transforming his dealership into a modern, customer-friendly oasis. Notably, it featured the first-ever central air conditioning system in Haven. His tireless dedication to customer satisfaction catapulted his business to unprecedented heights.

In 1967, Rusty expanded his customer-oriented approach to reach Wichita residents, acquiring a location in Valley Center. As Mustangs gained prominence as America's beloved car, Wichita had found its favorite dealer in Rusty Eck.

Two years later, in 1969, Rusty unveiled a state-of-the-art facility at 3901 N Broadway, ushering in the era of 'Eck Sells for Less,' a mantra embraced by Kansans. In 1970, Rusty's partnership with Ford led to acquiring the current location at 7310 E. Kellogg, providing even more room to grow.

With a dedicated team and a focus on national prominence, Rusty Eck Ford adopted the motto 'BUSINESS IS GOOD.' High-volume sales meant great deals and even higher levels of customer service. In 1972, the iconic Fordman was introduced to the public, starring in the longest-running ad campaign in automotive history.

Continuing this remarkable legacy, Les Eck assumed the role of president and owner in 1997. Leveraging his extensive experience in the family business, Les propelled Rusty Eck Ford into a new era. He introduced cutting-edge technology and visionary facilities, culminating in opening the stunning 7310 East Kellogg facility in 2005. It stands as one of the nation's most beautiful, functional, and customer-friendly dealerships, boasting the most extensive inventories of new and used vehicles in Kansas.
